Internet Security Software Launched by Panda Security 2014

Cloud security specialist Panda Security announced the availability of a range of retail solutions for a variety of operating systems, including Panda Global Protection 2014, Panda Internet Security 2014 and Panda Antivirus Pro 2014. The main innovations included in Panda Security’s 2014 Retail range of solutions include multi-platform protection offered by Panda Global Protection 2014 for Windows, including XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, Mac, including Apple’s mobile devices such as the iPad, iPhone and iPhone Touch, and Android devices, such as tablets, smartphones and even smart TVs. The solutions, built on Panda’s Collective Intelligence system, is designed to provide protection from viruses, hackers, online fraud and identity theft, in addition to known and unknown threats, with minimum impact on PC performance. "During the first six months of the year, 17 percent more malware samples were created than in the same period last year, so the situation is not just dangerous but also the degree of danger is increasing every month," Luis Corrons, technical director of PandaLabs at Panda Security, said in a statement. "Recently, Panda Security has noticed a gradual increase in attacks on mobile platforms, although there are significantly fewer than those against PCs. In any case, Android has become cyber-crooks’ preferred mobile operating system. Furthermore, there are more and more Trojans and malware in general that take advantage of these types of devices to infect PCs when they connect to them."

The 2014 edition of both Internet Security and Antivirus Pro boost their capabilities against viruses, hackers and other threats. In addition to these features, Internet Security 2014 also provides options to protect the family, the user’s identify and user data through parental control, remote access, removal of spam and backup with file restore, and other features.
The identity protection, anti-spam, parental control, backup, remote access, optimization, file encryption and password management modules have also been optimized. Antivirus Pro also provides rapid and intuitive protection and includes a firewall, virtual keyboard, home network management, a rescue kit and multimedia options, and other features.

Earlier this month, the company unveiled an updated version of its Cloud Systems Management (PCSM) platform aimed at Apple’s mobile iOS and designed to respond to the organizational needs presented by the increasingly popular bring-your-own-device (BYOD) trend in companies. The latest version of the remote management and monitoring solution enables companies’ technical departments to rapidly and flexibly respond to incidents from their iPhones or iPads, in addition to diagnosing problems and implementing actions.

Many businesses possess an unrealistic confidence surrounding the security of their networks, with more than 65 percent of IT/security professionals contacted for a survey by network visibility and security intelligence specialist Landcope not thinking or being unsure that they had experienced any security incidents within the last 12 to 18 months. Areas of blind spots within the typical enterprise are many, including applications, network traffic, network devices, user activity, virtualized appliances and data centers, to name a few.

VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a private network which is working on existing public infrastructure by creating a tunnel secured by different tunneling protocols. To subscribe to VPN subscription, the user's system need to connect to a remote VPN server which is based in another country. All information is encrypted because of the secured tunnel before it is routed through the tunnel. Moreover, Its requires authentication which has secured by using different VPN protocols namely L2TP and IPSec.
This technology allows hide IP. Nobody can identify your IP as well as your geographical position cannot be found. In addition, all Internet traffic to the VPN server will be encrypted with the key sustainable, and to understand what sites you have visited, it will be impossible.
If we need to acquire a secure channel between our home computer and the Internet without the ISP then thanks to the VPN server that ISP cannot be monitor your stay online and your visited internet pages. ISP logs will only write about the connectivity to the server.
If you are in the particular place, and access to the certain site is closed for IP addresses from your country.
Types of VPN
Now, we will elaborate on various kinds of VPN along with their characteristics so that it would easy for us to select which kind of VPN meets our requirements holistically.
L2TP VPN:
L2TP is an abbreviation of Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol. It provides no encryption by its own however, in its place uses the encryption of the protocol. Being an OSI Session Layer protocol, it is used as a layer 2 Tunnel. It uses Cisco's Layer 2 Forwarding (L2F) and also uses numerous types of Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) VPN.
IPSec VPN:
An other type of VPN is IPSec which is functioning on a Layer 3 of the OSI Model, it allows fabulous end-to-end security. Third party hardware or software must be used Beauce it allows impenetrable security. It's also require installation of an IPSec client software application. Before using IPSec VPN, It is imperative for you to configure the application.
SSTP VPN:
SSTP (Secure Socket Tunneling Protocol) VPN allows a high level of online security. It has been improved and fixed the loophole present in Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) or Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol (L2TP). Using SSTP, it can easily beat firewalls and web proxies if there will be no port blocking. Because of using the strong tunneling protocol, it allows better. To unblock sites in internet censoring countries, its depend upon user's choice.
PPTP VPN:
The most commonly used VPN is PPTP VPN which is used in all windows and smart Phones. The reason for being popular amongst users is its fine authentication features which can PPP-based protocols like PAP, EAP and CAP. It is recommended that streaming services of PPT should prefer as compare to sensitive data transfer.

We all know that computers and smartphones can be hacked if we're not careful. But a family in Houston, Texas, learned this week that baby monitors can be hacked too - and unfortunately, they learned the hard way.

According to a report by ABC News, Mark and Lauren Gilbert used a baby monitor camera with watching his 2-year-old deaf. This past weekend, the team went to talk to the child with a European accent, launching a series of vile insults demanding awake. When Gilbert investigated the noise, the person at the other end of the screen began to attack with insults too.

"At that time I ran and unplugged and tried to understand what happened," said Marc Gilbert to ABC. "(I) could not see the boy. All I could do was listen to his voice and (that) he controlled the camera. "

Baby monitor in question, the Court concluded that Forbes Baby Monitor Foscam has remote monitoring capabilities of the Internet. It is believed that the prankster used this function to access the audio and video of the child.

In April, it was revealed at a security conference that the type of ownership of the Gilbert camera was actually very vulnerable to piracy. The problem: 20% of these devices can be accessed by entering the username "admin" with no password.

The news is really alarming, but there are steps you can take to protect yourself when using a similar device. Experts recommend not to expose a baby monitor with external networks, but if necessary, use a firewall to protect your device. And no matter what you do to protect your monitor with a password that is difficult to solve.

If you know or think you may be infected by a virus!

Here's what you can do: Détection deletion
Vérification
Update
Protection
Firewalls
Updating the operating system

If you know or think you may be infected by a virus, it must be dealt with as quickly as possible because the infection may invite other infections on your PC and your system may crash (It is annoying not being able to use PC because of a Windows crashed). In addition, there are infections such as MSN infections where the virus sends himself to your contacts by sending a link on MSN so you may infect other PCs without purpose. Imagine also that the infection you infect your USB drive and you pay your USB key to a contact, your contact may infect your PC and so on.

Have a virus scan "online" (requires Internet Explorer with ActiveX allowed), for example:

Carefully note the name of the virus and the name (s) (s) / file (s) infected (s) but do not choose to eliminate the virus because some infections infect Windows files and so if you delete the file infected Windows, you may crash the system.
Go Secuser which contains a list of small, specialized utilities in removing a virus.
Look for one that applies to you, if any, download it and run it.
If there is no utility disinfection specializes in the removal of your virus, read this tip.

In all cases, when you have everything finished, restart your computer and iron an antivirus shot online.
Update your antivirus resident (or install one if it is not already some free antivirus: which one to choose Free Antivirus)

Because these to infiltrate the network, installing a personal firewall is more than possible, even essential!
Firewalls ZoneAlarm et Kerio Personal Firewall are free, easy to use

Some viruses (worms) exploit vulnerabilities in applications or operating system, so it is essential to regularly update (whenever possible). For Windows, it is Windows Update
